Wow what a very productive and positive day! The Stage is set and we are all ready to go.
First we met with Dr. Burrows my Thoracic Surgeon and we discussed the install of my feeding tube, my short term prognosis, the surgery to remove my Esophagus and my long term prognosis.
Basically my prognosis is, we will do everything we can do to burn and remove the Cancer and give me my happy normal life back within a year. He wants me to be a positive realist; I knew I could be both. Truthfully I know what the statistics say, I personally don’t give a crap what the numbers and the odds are, Ill leave the odds to the bookies in Vegas. Ill beat theyre crappy odds and win this battle.
Dr.Burrows and I discussed that my Esophagus surgery most likely won’t be for a few month’s yet, because we have tons of stuff to do first.
After some more blood work this morning I went down to the Oncology Department where I was aligned and set up for the Chemo/Radiation Treatment today; basically it took about an hour for them to make permanent marks on my body so that eveytime I come in for treatment all they will have to do is align the laser up with the marks on my body so I am in the same position everytime. We will do a test run of the treatment on Friday which Ill be in the hospital already anyway for the install of my Feeding Tube, Oh boy I hope they feed me green jello !
Wednesday June 10th I will have my feeding tube installed with a pump. I will be admitted into The University of Maryland on Wednesday and released no sooner than Friday, but shouldn’t be any later than Saturday. Dr.Burrows told me that he will not keep me in the hospital any longer than needed, but he also will not let me be released until he is absolutely positive that I am ready to go home.
The following Monday June 15th I will start my Chemo and Radiation Treatment that will last for approximately 28 treatments or 5 ½ weeks, how ever the method you choose to count it is your choice, for me….I’m counting treatments.

After that I get rescanned and recoped, and if the Cancer has regressed and not progressed then we remove my Esophagus and hopefully get better from there. We talked about that but that’s way too far ahead for me to worry about that now.
The great news is that Dr.Burrows says the odds of my Cancer progressing is very, very slim.
So this was the Readers Digest Version of my day today, I hope it is enough for you to feed on, I’m sure Ill edit it as I realize how much I left out.
PLEASE stop being invisible, register and become a follower, it takes 5 minutes.
I Love you all.
