I have been released from the Chemo and Radiation Oncology Dept at The University of Maryland Medical Center and have been turned over to the Thoracic Surgery Department.
Dr Burrows my Thoracic Surgeon has called me and scheduled a Pulmonary Function Test for 1100 and a Pet Cat Scan at 1300 on August 31st at the University of Maryland. These tests will determine if my lungs are strong and the Pet Cat Scan will look to see if my Tumor has grown and what level that my Cancer is and if it has spread or not.. These test are all pre surgical and will not re stage me just give us a picture of what is what.
Following these tests I expect a phone call from Dr. Greenwalds office who is the Director of Gastroenterology at The University of Maryland . They will schedule more in-depth tests ( Pet Scan, Vascular, and whatever else they told me that I didnt write down )that will do all of the RE=STAGING of my desase and then decide and determine what level of treatments and surgery needs to be done. This will RESTASGE my Cancer. And this can be the screws into the coffin or not.
So far today I feel okay, again I have good days and bad ones but the good ones outway the bad ones. I am leaving shortly for UMD to pick up a prescrption for my Roxicet.
