Dear John

Today we lost a dear friend, John Temar. I got a message about 0930 today from Mike Steck that John had passed in his sleep over night.
This was a true gentleman, a man that literally had no enemies. A guy that just made us laugh and smile.
If John had only 10 cents he would give you 5 cents of it. John was the happiest guy I knew, happy to be at work and happy to just be around the guys. With his silly Bubba Gump smile and his Walter Brennan walk as he came around the corner of the Jet Shop he managed to cheer up the saddest person on the rainiest day. He'd say " Cheer up little buddy ".

I spent two tours with John in Oman after Sept 11, he was my back bone, he kept me strong and kept me going. Ill never forget the night we commandeered a Tractor Trailer with all of our supplies on it, he told me that If I drive it hell keep me out of trouble, well 3 stop signs taken down later and perhaps a half pint of Jack Daniels we delivered our goods and he kept me clear from danger.
John, you will be sorely missed.
Rest in Peace my Friend.
The passing of John made this a very sad week for me and many, many others. It has me forgetting about me and thinking of the friends he left behind along with his children and poor Barbara Dawn, she was also a friend and she loved him dearly.
He will be missed so much

  1. It is a sad day today. Johnny and I go back to 1985. He was my crew chief on Jersey Girl. I'll miss him. I hope you are well my friend.
